The Initial Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Is Still Fighting.
Everywhere you go, enthusiasts continue to ring the knell for Microsoft's gaming division. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a relatively obscure console. Xbox fan sites began covering about PlayStation unprecedentedly. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for the Xbox ecosystem. But if we're going solely off what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that the green gaming company still intends to engage players with compelling titles on its key platform.
The Immediate Additions
The duo of games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's deserving of attention.
Major Titles on the Horizon
Come mid-January, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that deviates from conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. Another big get is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of terror and combat."
Intriguing Niche Additions
But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that is incredibly fun, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year could captivate you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by Rebellion Developments, also warrants your attention. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
Ultimately, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. It offers a healthy blend of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that failed to receive the spotlight they deserved the first time around — transforming them into ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
Hope you're ready to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
