Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

During an event for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike very quickly after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and now, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted at school, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
