The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health comes as the sports world offered sympathy for the fighter in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
